The SFP-53SM20D is a Taiwan-manufactured 1.25Gbps SFP BiDi (single-fiber) optical transceiver designed with a TX1550nm / RX1310nm wavelength configuration. It enables data transmission over a single strand of single-mode fiber (SMF) and supports a maximum communication distance of up to 20 km.
BiDi (Bidirectional) optical modules transmit and receive data using different wavelengths, allowing two-way data communication over the same fiber strand. This design significantly reduces fiber infrastructure requirements, making it suitable for enterprise networks, campus networks, surveillance systems, and various fiber networking environments.
The module features a standard SFP (Small Form-factor Pluggable) interface, allowing installation in switches, routers, and other networking equipment with SFP slots.
Single-Fiber Module Usage
This module is a BiDi single-fiber optical transceiver and must be paired with a complementary wavelength module:

Installing one module on each device allows a complete bidirectional communication link over a single fiber strand.
